Chelsea wants to get rid of former Sturm attacker immediately
The Londoners only signed the Dutchman in this transfer window and already want to get rid of him.
A transfer to Chelsea is probably a dream for many players. This step was achieved by Emanuel Emegha; as early as September 2025, the clubs Strasbourg and Chelsea confirmed the deal for a reported 25 million euros in summer 2026.
The Dutchman has now just arrived in London. However, according to "The Athletic", he is already sidelined there. The club is reportedly open to offers for the new signing.
Emegha is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2033. The then-captain at Strasbourg missed large parts of the past season due to a muscle tear.
Veteran instead of Former Sturm Player
According to the report, the "Blues" want to sign veteran Danny Welbeck (35) from Brighton & Hove Albion instead of Emegha. The club also has a new head coach since this summer in Spaniard Xabi Alonso.
The signs point to Emegha's departure, a bitter start at his new club.
Emegha played as a forward for SK Sturm Graz in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga in 2022/23, moving from there to Strasbourg in the summer of 2023.
