"Drink a few beers" - Ex-Salzburg coach Rose gives fans tips
The German was already there with FC Salzburg and has a special tip for his club's fans for their European Cup trip.
In 2017/18, Marco Rose achieved a historic run with FC Salzburg. With the Mozartstädter, the German managed to reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League.
After finishing second in the group, the knockout phase began with the intermediate round away at Real Sociedad in San Sebastián (2:2), followed by a 2:1 win in the return leg in Wals-Siezenheim. The Salzburgers then eliminated Peter Stöger's Borussia Dortmund and Lazio Rome on their way to the semi-finals.
Now he is back in the place where the knockout round journey began. With Bournemouth, he is starting the group stage of the UEFA Europa League in San Sebastián.
Not too much beer, because...
He already has corresponding tips for the fans. "Enjoy the evening, drink a few beers," the German laughs. But don't have too many. "Tomorrow morning the sunrise is very beautiful. You should see that. So don't sleep too long, because it's a special day," said the former Salzburg coach.
What will be new for Rose is the stadium. "When I came to San Sebastián, Anoeta was under construction. If you watch Real Sociedad games, you can feel how this stadium shakes," said the Leipzig native.
