Arsenal Interested?
Just a few hours before the match, a report emerged from the English portal "Caughtoffside" stating that the Graz youth product is on the radar of FC Arsenal. Brighton & Hove Albion are also said to be showing interest.
At the post-match press conference, Fabio Ingolitsch responded to a LAOLA1 inquiry: "I can't say anything about that. Rumours emerge so quickly nowadays. We don't really care about that."
However, he only had words of praise for his midfielder. Although Weinhandl has only made 23 competitive appearances for the "Blackies", he appears much more experienced on the pitch.
High Praise
"We know what we have in Luca. He is a highly talented player who, at 17, has already played several international matches. He is a special player, we know that, and yet we can all put it into perspective and are very happy that he is with us," said Ingolitsch.
And then added: "He will still help us immensely this year."
Weinhandl himself was also asked about the rumours after the match but didn't want to reveal anything: "Most of these things I only read myself in the newspapers. I don't talk to my agent about it because my focus is currently on Sturm. If something comes up, he will inform me in time."
