Christian Zawieschitzky
90 minutes
Denied the opposition several times to keep Salzburg in it, and was (once again) the strongest player on the pitch. Had to intervene for the first time as early as the seventh minute following a corner, and was also on hand to deny Biancone in the 13th minute.
For the free-kick goal, he looked... let's say: caught off guard. He shouldn't be blamed for the goal, but on a good day he saves that.
Shone with a great save against Cvetkovic when one-on-one, and made another fine stop in the 87th minute.
Leandro Morgalla
90 minutes
Had huge problems against his direct opponent Onia-Seke, but always kept trying and fighting.
Made a crucial last-ditch clearance against Cvetkovic inside his own penalty box.
Even after Onia-Seke was forced off through injury, he failed to get a grip on the right flank and repeatedly gave his replacement Winkler too much space — including for the second goal (0-2). Offered very little going forward.
Tim Drexler
90 minutes
Was still the most solid defender in the back four, albeit with difficulties against the lively Belgian attackers.
Had a good chance in the closing stages, but hit his shot straight into a defender.
Valentin Zabransky
90 minutes, booked
Made a mistake in build-up play before Cvetkovic's first big chance and was poorly positioned afterwards as well. The opening goal could have easily come in that situation. Improved after that, but overall the Salzburg defense looked far too vulnerable.
Frans Krätzig
90 minutes
Conceded an unnecessary free-kick that led to the 1-0 goal. Had a weak first half, but showed significantly more effort and performed much better after the break.
Abubakr Barry
Until the 77th minute
Could do little to counter Anderlecht's dominance in midfield. Improved after the restart, but still rarely managed to hold onto the ball or distribute it effectively. Offered hardly any useful passes going forward either.
Bartosz Mazurek
90 minutes
The highly talented Pole remained largely anonymous, failed to show his class, and struggled to get into the game.
Edmund Baidoo
59 minutes, booked
Was completely anonymous in the first 45 minutes and failed to get into the game after the restart as well. Made sloppy misplaced passes and was unable to kick-start the attack down the flanks at any point.
Tellingly, it took until the 71st minute for Salzburg to record their first shot on goal. By then, he had already been substituted. Lindström subsequently injected significantly more energy into the team.
Gaoussou Diakite
Until the 66th minute
Looked active and busy through the middle in the early stages, but made the wrong decision during a counter-attack in the eighth minute. There was more in that!
Faded increasingly after that and offered almost no threat up front. Was finally taken off in the 66th minute.
Yorbe Vertessen
Until the 66th minute
Playing in his home country, he was largely anonymous, just like Baidoo. Vertessen showed willing, but hardly anything came off for him.
Haris Tabaković
90 minutes, booked
A thankless game for the Bosnian! Defensively, he came to the rescue several times on opposition corners, clearing almost every ball. Offensively, his role was largely restricted to holding up the ball and securing possession. Had Salzburg's best chance with a header from a corner.
Jesper Lindström
From the 59th minute
Brought significantly more threat on the right side than Konate. Made smart decisions and played a key role in helping Salzburg create two late scoring chances.
Damir Redzic
From the 66th minute
Rarely involved in the action, but kept trying throughout.
Soumaila Diabate
From the 66th minute
Replaced Diakite, but struggled to make an impact and remained largely anonymous.
Karim Konate
From the 77th minute
Played too briefly to be rated.
