The Europa League group stage gets off to a far from ideal start for Nikolas Polster.

The 24-year-old and his new club NEC Nijmegen lost 5-0 away to Juventus Turin. The Austrian international looked poor on two of the conceded goals.

Vice-world champion Nico Gonzalez opened the scoring spree in the ninth minute. After a long goal kick from goalkeeper Grabara, Polster tried to clear but missed the ball. The Argentine then only had to tap it into an empty net (9').

Shortly after, Kerim Alajbegovic extended the lead to 2-0 with a well-placed long-range shot (24'). Nick Woltemade secured what looked like the decisive goal before the break from the penalty spot (35'). Polster had no chance on that one.

Polster Blunders Again

Zeki Celik scored the 4-0 in the 75th minute after a cut-back pass from Kolo Muani.

Polster also looked poor on the final goal. A through ball split the defence, and the Austrian international came off his line but was too late.

Kolo Muani poked the ball past Polster and then only had to tap it into an empty net (82').
