The goals would then only come in the second half, allowing the Graz side to celebrate their third competitive win of the current season.
"The first leg was already magical," said Sturm newcomer Simon Seidl after the match in an "ORF" interview.
"I believe these are the games you dream of as a child – here in Scotland, where football is lived with such passion, in front of 20,000 fans, sold out, a Champions League evening," enthused the midfielder. "Of course, it's only the qualifiers, but it's still simply magical."
Still unfamiliar for Seidl
The 23-year-old was particularly impressed by the atmosphere after his first European Cup match abroad.
"Our fans are incredible. They really push hard, even if it's during the week in Scotland. I'm not used to that; I've never played internationally before, it's really cool," said Seidl.
After the away game in Scotland, Sturm now stands at nine goals scored this season. There has not been a single goal conceded so far.
Fenerbahce or Gornik Zabrze as next opponent
In the third CL qualification round, the winner of Gornik Zabrze versus Fenerbahce awaits. In the first leg, the Turks narrowly won 1:0 at home. The return leg takes place tomorrow, Wednesday (8:00 PM, LIVE-Ticker >>>).
