WAC: Another key player sidelined
The Wolfsbergers are currently plagued by injuries. After captain Nicolas Wimmer, now their top scorer is affected.
Bitter news for WAC!
Striker Giacomo Vrioni has suffered a minor muscle fiber tear and will therefore be out for about two weeks. This was revealed by the MRI examination, as reported by "Krone" on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old also sustained the injury during the narrow progression to the round of 16 of the UNIQA ÖFB Cup against Parndorf. There, captain Nicolas Wimmer suffered an ACL tear, which will sideline him for months (Read more here >>>).
Due to his injury, Vrioni will miss the matches against SK Rapid and SV Ried. After that, there's an international break anyway. With four goals from five games, the striker is currently the most dangerous goal scorer in head coach Thomas Silberberger's squad.
