New twist in the case of the stolen Ultras Rapid "Fetzn"
During a friendly match in Venice, two "Fetzn" belonging to Ultras Rapid were stolen from a car. Now there is a new development surrounding the incident.
After days of uncertainty, there is a new development in the case of the "Fetzn" stolen from Ultras Rapid in Venice.
It is claimed in a widely-followed international Ultra group that the stolen material is now back in the possession of Rapid fans.
While there is no official confirmation from Ultras Rapid, there are at least indirect indications that the situation may have changed.
The group's original statement, which spoke of an uncertain future, has since been removed. In its place, the Ultras Rapid logo has reappeared.
Perpetrators apparently identified
According to the new account, not Ultras but two ordinary criminals are said to have been responsible for the theft.
They are said to have broken into the car and stolen the banners found inside.
Subsequently, Ultras from the allied Venezia-Mestre camp are said to have located the alleged perpetrators and recovered the stolen material.
Whether the events actually unfolded exactly this way cannot currently be independently confirmed.
The incident occurred around the friendly match between Rapid and Venezia in Venice (More info>>>). The match also celebrated the long-standing fan friendship between the supporters of both clubs.
