SK Sturm Graz dropped points at home for the first time this Bundesliga season with a 1-1 draw against Austria Lustenau (to the match report>>>).
After an early deficit thanks to Dominik Weixelbraun, Seedy Jatta rescued at least a point for Graz with a converted penalty. However, no one at Sturm was truly satisfied with the result.
Ingolitsch: "Bad Bundesliga game"
Fabio Ingolitsch spoke plainly after the match. "Honestly, we played a very bad Bundesliga game today," the Sturm coach told "Sky".
His team had been particularly disappointing in possession: "We were very sloppy, especially in possession, and invited the opponent to exploit their strengths." Uncontrolled turnovers, in particular, had repeatedly invited Lustenau to dangerous counter-attacks.
Nevertheless, Ingolitsch paid respect to the promoted side: "Credit to Lustenau for how they played. They were bold and courageous." Therefore, the draw was ultimately deserved.
Once again, the team's weak start caused the coach concern. "We tried to make the boys aware," Ingolitsch said. In next week's top match in Vienna against Rapid, Sturm must show a significantly better performance "from the start and for 90 minutes".
Jatta remains in goal-scoring form
For Sturm, Seedy Jatta's performance was at least positive. After the forward scored for the first time this season last week, he also netted the equalizer against Lustenau.
The striker converted the penalty with great patience. "I watched what the goalkeeper would do and then put the ball in," Jatta explained. Had Lustenau keeper Domenik Schierl stayed standing longer, "I would have waited longer too".
Ingolitsch was pleased about his forward's latest goal: "Seedy is in good form. He scored a goal last week and that naturally gives him a boost. I'm very happy that he scored again."
