Training Instead of Short Break: Silberberger Cracks Down at WAC

On Monday, Thomas Silberberger, head coach of the "Wolves", still hadn't digested the defeat. When asked by the "Krone" what was the worst for him, Silberberger said: "I can't even say – because so much was bad!"
Silberberger: "We'll train until Thursday for now"
However, WAC cannot be satisfied with their defensive performance at all. In the last three league games, they conceded at least three goals in each, and against SV Ried, it was even four. "Every loss of possession practically meant that an opponent was running alone towards our goal. Because defensive cover and counter-pressing were non-existent," veteran Rene Renner clarifies.
The path out of the crisis is a long one, which is why Thomas Silberberger has cancelled the five-day short vacation that was scheduled to start on Wednesday. "We'll train until Thursday for now – then we'll see," is the strategy of the 53-year-old Tyrolean.
Markus Pink and Simon Piesinger, who have been attending a coaching course since Monday, and Otar Mamageishvili, who is with the Georgian national team, will not participate in training.
