Bruno Gala 2026: These are the Winners

At the 30th edition of the Bruno Gala, the VdF once again honored Austria's best players. Special awards were also presented for the anniversary.

Sascha Horvath is a Bruno award winner in 2026!

The LASK captain, who won the double with his club, qualified for the Champions League, and was called up to the ÖFB team for the first time, was voted the best player of the past season by the players of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga.

At the 30th edition of the gala, hosted by the players' association VdF, the LASK midfielder succeeds Sturm's Otar Kiteishvili, who won the award named after Bruno Pezzey last year.

Among the women, Sarah Mattner-Trembleau emerged victorious. The 23-year-old played for SKN St. Pölten last season, where she scored as many goals in 16 league appearances.

She was runner-up with the Wölfinnen, and in the summer, she moved to Germany to FC Bayern Munich. Double winners FK Austria Wien are the Women's Team of the Season.

"For 30 years, the Bruno has been a very special award in Austrian football because the players themselves decide who deserves it. Precisely this recognition from their own colleagues makes it so valuable. Therefore, as VdF, we are all the more delighted to celebrate this anniversary together with the players and many companions from three decades of Austrian football," Gernot Baumgartner, Chairman of the VdF, is quoted as saying.

LASK Dominates

LASK - also named "Team of the Season" - can celebrate further award winners from its own ranks: coach Dietmar Kühbauer was honored as Coach of the Season, and Lukas Jungwirth is Goalkeeper of the Season.

The best foreign player (male) is Konrad Laimer, while Chiara D'Angelo from Werder Bremen took the award for best foreign player (female) of the season.

On the occasion of the gala's anniversary, Ivica Vastić received the "30 Years Bruno Legend" award, and Laura Feiersinger also celebrated receiving the anniversary Bruno.

Bruno initiators Rudi Novotny and Gernot Zirngast were honored with a special award for their contributions to establishing player representation in Austria.

"When the Bruno was created, the idea was actually very simple: No one can assess the performance of footballers better than those who themselves stand on the pitch with and against them week after week. That this idea still works 30 years later and that the Bruno holds such importance today is something very special," said Zirngast.
