SV Ried and WAC have celebrated victories in their penultimate pre-season friendly matches ahead of the new competitive season.

The Innviertel side defeated German third-division club Rot-Weiß Essen 3-0. Two new signings, Rhodes (29') and Sissoko (82'), got on the scoresheet, with Aisowieren scoring the interim 2-0 goal (58') in between.

WAC coach Thomas Silberberger saw his team secure a 6-1 victory against Kapfenberger SV. Vrioni (6', 45') scored a brace, while Schwarz (20'), Avdijaj (53'), Karamoko (65'), and Pink (77') added the other goals.

Ried will play their last friendly on Saturday against Mlada Boleslav, while WAC will face ATUS Velden on Monday.

WSG Loses to Hertha BSC

Meanwhile, WSG Tirol had to accept a narrow 2-3 defeat against Hertha BSC.

The traditional Berlin club took the lead through Sessa after two minutes, but ten minutes later the game was turned around: Ola-Adebomi (7') and Baden-Frederiksen (12') put the Tyroleans 2-1 ahead.

After the break, Sessa (53') completed his brace, and Ndi (76') ultimately scored the winning goal for the German second-division side.

For the Tyroleans, it was the dress rehearsal for their UNIQA ÖFB-Cup opener on Friday (6:30 PM) against SC Wieselburg.
