Will the Bundesliga introduce hydration breaks?
At the World Cup, the mandatory hydration breaks are causing major discussions. Will they soon be seen in Austria?
The newly introduced mandatory hydration break is causing discussions at the Football World Cup.
Per half, the game must be interrupted for about three minutes for a "Hydration Break". TV broadcasters often use this artificially created break for commercials.
In many matches, it was observed how the momentum changed after the restart. For coaches, this break naturally offers the chance to give their teams new tactical instructions.
No "Hydration Breaks" currently planned
In Austria, the introduction of "Hydration Breaks" is not an issue.
The ADMIRAL Bundesliga confirmed upon "Sky" inquiry that a mandatory hydration break is not currently planned.
However, the referee can still interrupt a game for a one-minute hydration break if necessary. The official regulations also provide for the possibility of a three-minute cooling break.
