Rapid dedicates stadium sector to Didi Kühbauer
In the future, there will be a Didi Kühbauer sector in the Rapid stadium. Other legends will also be present in the stadium.
SK Rapid is renaming its sectors in honor of several Rapid legends. The club officially announced this.
On the North Stand, they will be named after Michael Konsel, Gerhard Hanappi, Ernst Happel, Heribert Weber, and Peter Schöttel.
There are also new names on the Allianz Stand. A section will be dedicated to LASK coach Didi Kühbauer; the Burgenländer was already successful as a player for the club and later became vice-champion twice as a coach. In the past season, he won the double with LASK.
Alongside him, Antonín Panenka, Hans Krankl, Steffen Hofmann, and Andreas Herzog will have a part of the stand dedicated to them on the Allianz Stand.
Staircases Remember Rapid Legends
Franz Binder is present on the Main Stand in Sector 20. Sector 12 on the Main Stand symbolically receives no new name; it is intended to represent the fans as the twelfth man.
The staircases have been spray-painted with graffiti of the legends. "Many thanks to Heinz Deutsch, who submitted a member's motion at one of the past general assemblies to make the green-white history more visible in the Allianz Stadium. We have now successfully implemented this in the form of the new sector namings with the active support of presidium member Stefan Kjaer and Rapideum director Julian Schneps. It is a great honor for me to be able to be part of this myself," says Managing Director Steffen Hofmann.
