Romeo Amane is considered the hottest transfer candidate and could bring millions to Rapid >>>
"I don't want to rule out that an agreement will be reached soon," explains Rapid's Managing Director for Sport, Markus Katzer, in an interview with the "Kurier".
In the background, the search for a replacement is already in full swing. According to "Kurier", Rapid is currently considering three unnamed players who could fill the gap in defensive midfield.
Agyekum Not an Option
Lawrence Agyekum is not one of them. The 22-year-old Ghanaian, who was under contract with Red Bull Salzburg from 2022 to 2025 and currently plays for Cercle Brugge, was recently linked with the Hütteldorf club.
However, as the "Kurier" reports, Agyekum is not a candidate for Rapid.
So far, Rapid has remained relatively quiet this summer with the signings of Tonni Adamsen (Silkeborg IF) and Nicolas Bajlicz (SV Ried).
