Ingolitsch: "We have real quality out there"

After a balanced first half, Konstantin Schopp's second yellow card in the 60th minute turned the tide. Substitutes Simon Seidl and Nelson Weiper then sealed the win.

Ingolitsch with the Midas Touch

Fabio Ingolitsch had already highlighted the importance of substitutes before the match, and he was proven right. "It's not about who starts today, but probably about how our substitutes make the difference at the end of the day," said the Sturm coach after the match on "Sky".

Seidl, Weiper, and Soglo came onto the pitch together. Seidl assisted both goals, while Weiper scored a brace. "We knew we had real quality out there," said Ingolitsch.

The coach is particularly pleased with Soglo's development: "A fantastic player. In Istanbul (in the Champions League qualifier against Fenerbahce, Note:), he was the best player on the pitch for me." Weiper also delivered on his task.

Weiper Scores a Brace

It was a special performance for the German loanee. After coming on, he only needed two touches in the penalty area for two goals. "Outstanding setup from Seidl every time, then I just stand there, and luckily two touches are enough," explained the German loanee.

The two goals accordingly marked a successful super-sub appearance for him: "It was good, came on, brace, win, three points."

Ingolitsch wants to carefully build up the striker, who is currently still a bit dinged up: "We will handle him well and carefully because we have long-term plans for him, not just for the next few days and weeks."

Seidl Enjoys International Weeks

Simon Seidl played a decisive role in the victory with two assists. The new signing already feels comfortable after his first competitive matches for Sturm and enjoys the high workload.

"I think I've worked my whole life for this, to be at Sturm and to have international weeks," said Seidl.
