With a Numerical Advantage! Sturm Celebrates Away Win in Styrian Derby

In the 2nd round of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga, SK Sturm celebrated a 2-0 away win against TSV Hartberg. The man of the match was brace-scorer Nelson Weiper.

In the first half, Hartberg had more of the game. Although Sturm had two good scoring opportunities through Hödl (35th) and Mamageishvili (45.+1), Hartberg was defensively solid and posed offensive threats.

For example, in the 39th minute: A pass from Kainz to Gattermayer, who asserted himself in a duel with two Sturm players, shooting through one of their legs and scoring. However, the Hartberg player was slightly ahead beforehand. The goal did not count due to an offside position.

Afterwards, it got even more bitter for the hosts: a beautiful switch of play from Sturm to the substitute Soglo. A one-two pass with the equally new Seidl, who whipped in the cross. There, the substitute Weiper was perfectly positioned and scored his first goal for Sturm to give them a 1-0 lead (69th).

And just a short while later, it was again a co-production between Soglo, Seidl, and Weiper that led to success. After a short corner, Seidl's pass reached Weiper perfectly, and he gave Pecsi no chance with a low shot (81st).

Sturm thus celebrated their first Bundesliga victory of the season, while Hartberg got off to a false start with two defeats.
