The transfer market has been unusually quiet at SK Rapid in recent days and weeks.

Since Sporting Director Markus Katzer announced over two weeks ago "that things would get wild again in August," there have been neither arrivals nor departures. The rumour mill has also remained rather cold since then.

"There's certainly a lot of activity – but nothing we want to specifically address yet. And when it comes to that, we will address it," Katzer stated to "Sky" ahead of the clash with GAK (now in the LIVE ticker), regarding the current situation on the transfer market.

Further Departures Only After UECL Qualifiers?

Regarding potential departures, such as that of Romeo Amane, there are two sides, according to Rapid's Sporting Director: "Perhaps something should be done, but we also want to have the best squad available for the two matches."

Katzer speaks of a "fine line." On one hand, the best possible team should be fielded to reach the league phase of the Conference League ("Everyone knows that this is a very important financial aspect for us."). On the other hand, "perhaps something should be done."

However, SK Rapid fundamentally want to keep as many key players as possible. "That's a lesson learned from the last transfer periods. We changed a lot every transfer period. Now it's a very well-functioning group – and they can achieve something."
