However, it's not only the team itself making history. An individual player also set a new record: Ercan Kara. With 27 goals, the 30-year-old is the new record goalscorer for Rapid players at the Allianz Stadion.
"I hope I can become even partially as much of a legend as he is"
With his two goals in the thrashing victory, he surpassed none other than Guido Burgstaller. "It's an honor to surpass a player like 'Burgi'. Now I still need to extend the record," Kara tells LAOLA1.
Speaking to "Sky", the Hütteldorf forward explained that he would still write to his former teammate (four games together): "Burgi is a legend, and I hope I can become even partially as much of a legend as he is. I still have a lot to do for that."
