"Fantastic!" Schopp Raves About His Team After Home Win
Konstantin Schopp scores the winning goal for Hartberg against WAC. Coach Markus Schopp is pleased with the development of the young players.
TSV Hartberg secured a deserved 1-0 home victory on Saturday evening against bottom-of-the-table WAC (to the match report >>>).
Coach Markus Schopp is extremely satisfied with the development of his team, especially the young players.
Coach's Son as Match-Winner
"I think a few young players are developing splendidly," raves the 52-year-old in an interview with "Sky". The golden goal scorer against WAC is none other than the coach's son. Konstantin Schopp rewarded himself with his first goal.
For the 20-year-old, it's naturally "a very cool feeling." His dad is also happy for the goal scorer: "The fact that Konstantin rewarded himself is something he deserved because he has played outstandingly over the last few weeks," says the coach proudly.
Schopp Still Sees Room for Improvement
For Hartberg, the match against WAC was a real test of patience. However, Hartberg is familiar with the defensive approach of new WAC coach Manfred Schmid from earlier times, when Schmid still coached the Styrians.
"You immediately noticed Manfred's signature," states Tobias Kainz, who played his 250th game for Hartberg. Coach Markus Schopp also speaks of a "totally complicated game" and refers to the Carinthians as a "mystery bag."
However, Hartberg is far from the end of their development. "I believe we have a lot of potential to become much better," says the coach confidently.
