The visitors started the game slightly better and created the first scoring chances through Sasha Horvath (3') and Kasper Jörgensen (10'). However, it was Austria who thought they had cause to celebrate first.

After a corner kick for the Violets, Aleksandar Dragovic, making his starting eleven comeback, received the ball at the halfway line and played a long pass to Tae-seok Lee on the right wing. He controlled it well, crossed from the left to the center, where Buhari headed it in for 1-0.

After a VAR check, referee Arnes Talic disallowed the goal: the South Korean was offside in the build-up.

After that, LASK took control again. After the Austria defense managed to clear some dangerous situations, the champions scored the opening goal in the 54th minute:

Adeniran flicked on a Horvath corner with the back of his head, and inside the six-yard box, Andres Andrade only had to nod it in. While LASK then eased off, the Viennese grew stronger - however, the final pass was missing in Helm's team's attacking play.

The final fifteen minutes were action-packed.

First, Austria celebrated - but once again, a goal by the Violets was disallowed: substitute Kelvin Boateng received a clearance attempt from Joao Tornich onto his arm, from where the ball looped high over Jungwirth into the net (75').

During the hosts' strong phase, the Upper Austrians struck a second time: Dragovic could only prevent an Adeniran goal with his arm and received a red card. Sahin-Radlinger saved the subsequent penalty against Moses Usor, but the Nigerian slotted home the rebound (83').

LASK thus delivers a perfect start to the season and sits at the top of the table alongside SK Rapid. In contrast, Austria's Bundesliga false start is complete, as they stand with zero points and a 0:5 goal difference after two games.
