Rapid remains league leaders!

The Hütteldorf team wins the 351st Vienna Derby on Matchday 11 of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga against Wiener Austria with a score of 2-0.

Rapid starts better

Rapid gets off to a better start and creates a first clear-cut chance early in the game.

In the seventh minute, Demir makes a strong pass to Dahl, who shrugs off Handl, but then puts the ball just over the goal.

The Hütteldorf team initially remains dominant and repeatedly creates dangerous situations in front of the opponent's goal with impressive combinations. This was also the case in the 14th minute: Seidl played a through ball to Adamsen, who appeared alone in front of Sahin-Radlinger, but failed to beat the Austria goalkeeper.

Austria takes the upper hand

After that, the match increasingly shifted in favor of the Violets. First, Hedl misjudges a cross, but Austria's subsequent shot is cleared off the line by Raux-Yao with a header.

Just one minute later, Markovic provides the next moment of excitement: After a strong solo run, he smashes the ball against the crossbar.

Lucky for Rapid! Austria keeps up the pressure, while the Hütteldorf team increasingly plays passively.

Cvetkovic clears off the line

After a corner kick, Saljic gets a shot away with a volley, but Cvetkovic throws himself into the shot with full commitment and prevents the possible opening goal (34.).

Thus, after an entertaining first half with numerous chances for both sides, it goes goalless into the changing rooms.

After the half-time break, it was initially a varied game. Rapid stabilized again and repeatedly got in front of goal with several actions.

Penalty for Rapid

In a hitherto balanced second half, Kara is fouled by Dragovic in the box after a Horn cross, and the referee immediately points to the spot.

Demir remains calm for the penalty and slots the ball down the middle for Rapid's 1-0 lead.

Rapid carries the momentum of the lead, increasingly takes control and creates several chances to extend the advantage. First, Dahl misses a cross from Bolla, and with it the 2-0 (65th minute), a little later Bolla fails to beat Sahin-Radlinger.

Decider

In the 82nd minute, the decisive moment finally arrived: After a corner kick, Mbuyi heads the ball. The ball keeps travelling, Sahin-Radlinger's clearance attempt fails, and it bounces off Lee Tae-Seok into the net for 2-0.

With the away victory in this prestige duel, Rapid secures the league leadership, while Austria remains at the bottom of the table.
