With Nnodim and 21 Debutants! Perchtold Names U21 Squad

U21 head coach Peter Perchtold springs a surprise with the final squad nomination of the year, including 21 debutants in his 30-man squad.

One of the 21 debutants is Austria talent Daniel Nnodim, who would also have been eligible to play for Germany but has now decided to play for the ÖFB team.

The U21 team will not play any competitive matches during the international break but will instead undergo a pure training camp.

14 Debutants Play in Austria

14 of the 21 debutants are well-known from the ADMIRAL Bundesliga and the ADMIRAL 2. Liga respectively.

However, Perchtold is also inviting some foreign-based players for the first time: In total, four foreign-based players from Germany, two from Serbia, and one from Portugal are included.

Notable Absentees

The youngest player in the squad is 16-year-old Teo Hupfauf. The talented goalkeeper has already played two matches in the ADMIRAL 2. Liga this season.

Some prominent names, such as Ifeanyi Ndukwe or Vasilije Markovic, are not included, as they will support Austria's U19 team in the last three matches of the European Championship qualifiers.
