Rangnick: One last surgery to be pain-free again
The ÖFB national team coach will undergo surgery again after the upcoming two international matches. Afterwards, the golf cart should finally be put away.

Ralf Rangnick with a knee scooter or a golf cart – that has become a familiar sight.
In early summer 2025, the ÖFB national team coach underwent surgery to address wear and tear in his ankle. It was supposed to be a routine procedure.
However, inflammation developed after the surgery, followed by several further procedures.
Ankle Fusion
In three weeks, i.e., after the upcoming national team training camp, the German will undergo surgery again.
"It hasn't gotten better in recent weeks and months, but has tended to get a little worse," reports the 68-year-old.
His plan: "In a final, hopefully conclusive surgery, I will have my ankle fused." He assures that it sounds "more dramatic than it is."
Without a Golf Cart in March?
Rangnick continues: "After all the conversations I've had, I hope and assume that afterwards, at least months later, I will be able to walk pain-free again."
The actual goal: "There's a good chance that I'll be able to move around on the pitch again during the March training camp without a knee scooter or golf cart."
