ALEXANDER SCHLAGER
90 Minutes
An important statement from Austria's World Cup goalkeeper in the race for the number one spot! After a more or less uneventful first half, the Salzburg native had to be wide awake just before the break after a poor pass from Xaver Schlager, and he resolved the tricky situation with extreme routine. After the break, he made two strong saves against Hodza, once from a dangerous header and once from a rebound after Rashica's shot hit the post. Shortly before the end, the 30-year-old had to punch away a Danso miskick, where his weaknesses in that regard were evident.
STEFAN POSCH
90 Minutes
Ensured that the Kosovar left flank was largely nullified. Defensively a good game from the Styrian, but in terms of offense, it was a mixed bag. Early on, he delivered a great cross to Gregoritsch, but his other deliveries were rather unusable. He also had a good header chance in the first half, which he finished with far too little conviction.
FELIX BACHER
90 Minutes
Unfortunately, anything but a successful debut for the Tyrolean, who struggled greatly with the pitch, but also with his nerves. Early in the game, he received a reprimand from Danso for insufficient positioning, and just before the break, he was able to clear up his own mistake against Hodza quite well. After the half, however, the 25-year-old had a very dismal performance. During Kosovo's double chance for 2-0, he casually lost the ball and miskicked when attempting to clear it. Shortly before the end, he also made a hair-raising mispass in his own penalty area, which almost had serious consequences.
KEVIN DANSO
90 Minutes
A game of genius and madness from the Styrian. Extremely composed and dominant in the first half, but defensively with some wild actions in the second. For the 1-0 goal, he only had eyes for the ball and not for Asllani in behind; shortly after, he almost lost a crucial duel with Rashica, who then hit the post. And just before the end, he almost invited the Kosovans to score the winning goal with a crazy clearing attempt; at least he was able to correct his own mistake in that situation. To his credit, his throw-ins reached impressive distances this time – especially for the equalizer, this weapon finally paid off.
KONRAD LAIMER
90 Minutes
The Austrian captain is far from his usual form after his injury, which was evident in many actions on Sunday. After having Zhegrova quite well under control in the first half, the Juve star completely slipped away from him in the second half. He was repeatedly outplayed by the Kosovan dribbler, and he lost sight of him completely in the build-up to the 1-0 goal. Offensively, very little was achieved either. Not even when he was moved to midfield for the final phase.
XAVER SCHLAGER
90 Minutes
Probably the player who, due to his rather risky playing style, had the biggest problems with the pitch conditions in Pristina. He repeatedly made an unusually high number of careless mispasses, the worst one just before halftime, when namesake Alexander Schlager had to rectify it. Stronger off the ball, however, with several important ball recoveries. Overall, a very positive international break for the tireless runner, who, after Rangnick's criticism of his fitness, was the only player to play the full ninety minutes in all four matches.
NICOLAS SEIWALD
Up to the 77th minute
The Leipzig-based player absolutely needs to regain his form. He had some good actions in the first half, but then became increasingly erratic in the second. Even though Zhegrova is a great footballer, the Kosovan number 10 shouldn't be allowed to get past him so easily before the home team's opening goal. Seiwald was substituted in the final phase, which doesn't happen to him often under Rangnick and speaks volumes.
PATRICK WIMMER
Up to the 62nd minute
The Lower Austrian has now developed into an absolute key figure in Ralf Rangnick's system when playing off the ball. On Sunday, he was again involved in some really good ball wins, and the Hoffenheim player didn't do everything wrong with the ball at his feet either. As the game progressed, the exertions of the last ten days became noticeable, and he was substituted after just over an hour.
ROMANO SCHMID
Up to the 62nd minute
One can't shake the feeling that the Italy-based player is better suited to the wing than to the number ten role. He seemed rather overplayed this time and had enormous problems with the pitch. Shortly before his substitution, he almost registered an assist; his cross to Gregoritsch would have been quite good.
ALEXANDER PRASS
Up to the 62nd minute
A very good start from the super-sub from Dublin, who this time was allowed to start as an attacking midfielder for the Austrian team for the first time. In the 20th minute, he almost scored his second goal for Austria and then futilely demanded a penalty, shortly after he tried a long-range shot. He also faded as the game went on and was then taken off as part of the triple substitution.
MICHAEL GREGORITSCH
90 Minutes
Seemingly only involved with his head - and then it became dangerous on a couple of occasions: right at the start, when he directed a very difficult header quite well towards goal, and just before the break after a corner. Otherwise, he was often looked for by his teammates, but rarely found. The Styrian has had better international matches.
CHRISTOPH LANG
From the 62nd minute, Goal
What a story! The LASK attacker was the big surprise in Ralf Rangnick's new Austrian squad and ended this international break as one of the winners. After already registering an assist in the home game in Linz against Israel, this time he headed Austria to a very important point after linking up with LASK teammate Kalajdzic. The Styrian also stood out with some good defensive actions.
SASA KALAJDZIC
From the 62nd minute, Assist
There weren't many successful actions after his substitution. The one that came off, however, was incredibly important. As often seen at LASK, the two-meter man cleverly flicked on a throw-in, thus collecting another assist. A Sasa Kalajdzic in this form is an incredible asset to the Austrian team.
MARCO GRÜLL
From the 62nd minute
The Werder-based player received very few chances in this international break to confirm his strong form. In Pristina, he had at least a good half hour, in which the player from Pongau showed quite good approaches. There were some good dribbles, but Grüll couldn't make any decisive contributions.
MAXIMILIAN WÖBER
From the 77th minute
Was deployed as a left-back again this time, but played too little to be rated.
