Austria will contest their Nations League away game against the Republic of Ireland with what can certainly be described as a depleted squad (8:45 PM in the LIVE ticker>>>).

A total of six players have left the ÖFB team in recent days for various reasons. Michael Gregoritsch, Phillipp Mwene, and Konrad Laimer, three key players, were recently carrying knocks, and Kevin Danso is also suspended due to yellow cards in Dublin.

Thus, ÖFB head coach Ralf Rangnick has to make six changes compared to the 3-1 victory over Kosovo.

It was clear beforehand that Florian Wiegele would be in goal for ÖFB, making his starting XI debut.

In defense, Philipp Lienhart returned to the squad and is immediately back in the starting XI. The same applies to Phillipp Mwene, who missed out against Kosovo carrying a slight knock. Stefan Posch also rotates back into the first XI, while David Affengruber remains in after a strong performance.

The midfield almost picks itself. Defensively, as usual, Xaver Schlager and Nicolas Seiwald line up alongside each other, while offensively, Carney Chukwuemeka makes his starting XI debut alongside Patrick Wimmer and Romano Schmid.

Sasa Kalajdzic will be the lone striker this time.

The ÖFB Starting XI: Wiegele; Posch, Affengruber, Lienhart, Mwene; Schlager, Seiwald; Wimmer, Chukwuemeka, Schmid; Kalajdzic
