Wacker Goalie Pays Dearly for Debut
The 20-year-old was recently loaned from GAK and made his first appearance. A serious collision occurred during the match.
Juri Kirchmayr paid a heavy price for his first appearance for FC Wacker Innsbruck.
The 20-year-old keeper made his first appearance for the second-division promoted team on Saturday in the friendly match against Chemie Leipzig (1-0) and lost two front teeth in an unfortunate collision.
The incident occurred in the second half, and the GAK loan player was unable to continue the match. Kirchmayr is doubtful for the competitive season opener in the UNIQA ÖFB-Cup on Saturday (6 PM) against Reichenau.
However, the ÖFB U21 goalie remains defiant: "I haven't completely given up hope yet."
