After the Westderby, the ADMIRAL 2. Liga features its next big match: League leaders FC Blau-Weiß Linz will be guests at SV Austria Salzburg on Friday (from 8:30 PM in the LIVE stream >>>).

However, a few days before the clash, discontent reigns among Blau-Weiß fans due to the ticket situation. For the Linzers, only 156 away tickets would be available in Salzburg, whereas between 300 and 1,000 BWL fans attended their club's previous away games.

The Stahlstadt Kollektiv, the umbrella organization of all fan clubs and fans of FC Blau-Weiß Linz, drew attention to this in a public statement.

Public Viewing Outside the Stadium?

This once again brings Austria Salzburg's home ground, which is only approved for 1,566 fans in LigaZwa, into focus.

Due to the limited capacity of the away sector, there was an idea to organize a public viewing for the "hundreds of locked-out fans" outside the Austria stadium, as stated in the Stahlstadt Kollektiv's statement.

The public viewing should have been held in cooperation with Austria Salzburg. However, this idea has now been abandoned.

It is currently unclear whether the away sector will remain empty on Friday out of solidarity with the fans who do not have a ticket. What is certain is that the BWL fans want to travel to Salzburg. "Regardless of whether with or without a ticket: together to Salzburg!", writes the Stahlstadt Kollektiv.

Only Light Beer in the Stadium

The Salzburg State Police Directorate has set up a security zone around the stadium for Friday (between 6 PM and midnight). "The match is to be classified as a major sporting event where the participation of violent individuals is expected," the press release states.

"There won't be a big drama," the "Salzburger Nachrichten" quoted Austria chairman David Rettenbacher. According to him, his club had submitted an enhanced security concept.

"We are only allowed to serve light beer at the match," Austria club manager Harald Mittermaier told the "Kronen Zeitung" about it. Spritzer are not permitted.
