Suspected ACL tear: "Great concern" for PSG star
The attacking star could only leave the field with support. An MRI scan is expected to provide clarity on Wednesday.
There is great concern at Paris Saint-Germain for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia following the 4:2 victory against FC Barcelona.
The Georgian had to be substituted due to injury in the 60th minute of the match against the Catalans, following a collision with Barca right-back Xavi Espart.
Kvaratskhelia grabbed his right knee after the collision and could only leave the field with support.
MRI scan expected to provide clarity
As reported by the French sports daily "L'Equipe", there is "great concern" within Kvaratskhelia's entourage. There is fear that the 25-year-old has sustained an ACL tear.
An MRI scan is scheduled for Wednesday. A precise diagnosis is expected afterwards.
So far in his career, Kvaratskhelia has been spared from a serious knee injury. The Georgian has featured eleven times this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
Against "Barca", PSG players Ousmane Dembele and Marquinhos also had to leave the field with knocks.
