Blau-Weiß Linz Gets Stadium Cheaper Now
The stadium rent has been significantly reduced. This is related to the relegation.
FC Blau-Weiß Linz was able to open the newly built Hofmann Personal Stadion in Donaupark right on time for their promotion to the ADMIRAL Bundesliga in 2023.
The Steel City club is a tenant of the city, with Immobilien Linz GmbH (ILG) being the owner. Due to their relegation to the ADMIRAL 2. Liga, the Steel City club's budget is limited.
Significant Rent Reduction
According to the "Oberösterreichische Nachrichten", the city is now accommodating them. According to the report, the second-division team will now only have to pay a net of 234,000 Euros annually instead of the previous 354,000 Euros. This reduces the rent by 34 percent, and it applies for the next five years.
This means the city of Linz would forgo a total of 600,000 Euros in revenue. However, whether more revenue from the Donaupark will flow into the city's budget again depends on the sporting situation. Blau-Weiß is currently top of the league. If they manage to get promoted again, the reduced rental price will, it is said, no longer apply. The city therefore has another reason to root for the club.
