Official: David Alaba joins Udinese Calcio!
The long period of being clubless is over: His new club has already announced the transfer.
It has happened: David Alaba has a new club! The 34-year-old from Vienna moves to Italy to Udinese Calcio.
His new club officially announced the move on Thursday. The ÖFB captain signs for one year until summer 2027.
Alaba had been clubless since early July after his contract with Real Madrid was not extended. He last played in a football match on July 2nd in the World Cup Round of 16 against Spain.
Since then, Alaba had been searching for a club. His goal was always a top European league, a goal that has now been fulfilled with his move to Serie A.
Udinese Coach Was Born in Vienna
At Udinese Calcio, Alaba will meet Kosta Runjaic, a German coach who was born in Vienna. In defense, he also has former Salzburg player Oumar Solet as a teammate. The 18-year-old Matteo Palma, who was contacted by the ÖFB, is also under contract with Udinese.
Udinese finished last season in tenth place in Serie A, and therefore is not represented internationally this current season. In the current ongoing season, "le Zebrette" are in 13th place after five games.
