Austria Salzburg remain flawless in the new ADMIRAL 2. Liga season.

Following their 2-0 opening win away at FC Hertha Wels, the Violettes celebrate a 4-1 victory over First Vienna FC in their first home game of the season.

The Vienna side thrashed Sturm II 4-0 last week and were experiencing a dream start. Soukouna is sent deep down the left wing and has an eye for Zimmermann, who converts the subsequent cross into the net (4').

Salzburg Rewarded Before the Break

After that, however, nothing clicked for Patrick Enengl's side, while Austria Salzburg, on the other hand, overcame the early shock.

Rohrmoser caused the first murmur with a curling shot from a standstill, the ball flying just over the crossbar (20'). After 40 minutes, Vienna keeper Unger still managed to get his fingers to a shot from Gebauer, making a save (40').

Less than a minute later, the not undeserved equalizer came. After a scramble in the penalty area, the ball fell to Rieder's feet, who coolly finished into the bottom left corner (41'). In the last action of the first half, a Meisl header flashed past the far post (45'+5).

Three Goals in 16 Minutes

As the half-time whistle blew, Rieder had to leave the field injured, replaced by Kahrimanovic for the second half. And the super-sub made an immediate impact: A long throw-in was flicked on to Kahrimanovic, who gave Unger no chance in the Vienna goal (46').

Austria immediately followed up, Gebauer remaining cool in front of Unger after a perfect Crnkic through ball and slotting home for 3-1 (51').

Huetz completed the fairytale start to the second half; the WSG loan player took his chance from close range and put the game beyond doubt (62').

Vienna found no answer to the three conceded goals and consequently travelled back to Hohe Warte without any points.

In the table, Austria Salzburg draw level with Bundesliga relegated side Blau-Weiß Linz on six points, while Vienna sit in fifth place with their three points.
