Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz drew 1-1 with Rapid II on matchday 12 of the ADMIRAL 2. Liga.

While the Vorarlberg side let a victory that seemed secure slip away, the team from Hütteldorf move off the bottom of the table.

First half lacking highlights

The first half proved to be balanced for large stretches. The first half-chance fell to the visitors: following a corner, Yeboah got up for a header but could not direct it with enough power (8').

At the other end, Rodrigues also missed the target from an Araki free-kick cross (10'). Jozepovic was also unable to cause any real danger with a free-kick from around 25 meters out (20').

Rapid II ultimately had the best chance before the break. Jakupi beat his defender with a clever feint and set up Jozepovic, whose shot was far too central, allowing Bregenz keeper Joao Paulo to make an easy save (34').

Shortly before the halftime whistle, Fetahu created danger once more, but after an impressive solo run, Kerschbaum thwarted his attempt at the last moment (45'). The teams went into the break goalless.

Wonder goal gives Bregenz the lead

After the restart, Bregenz increasingly took control. First, Fetahu missed the target with a header from a cross (47'), and shortly after, Maksimovic dragged a curled effort wide (52'). Omotehara also wasted a good opportunity (56').

In the 57th minute, the hosts finally rewarded themselves for their improved performance. Dantas took aim from around 30 meters out and let fly with a powerful strike. His swerving shot caught Rapid keeper Orgler off guard at his near post; although he got his fingertips to the ball, he could not prevent it from hitting the back of the net.

Late equalizer

Bregenz were closer to a second goal in the period that followed. Omotehara squandered a huge chance when, after a low cross, he only had to tap into an empty Rapid net, but instead hit Yeboah's back (68').

And their failure to capitalize on their chances came back to haunt them. Shortly before the end, chaos broke out in the Bregenz penalty box following a corner. The ball broke to Thiero, who initially hit the woodwork before firing the rebound into the back of the net (88').

Rapid II hand over bottom spot

Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz thus let a second consecutive victory slip through their fingers and now sit on 16 points. Nevertheless, the Vorarlberg side move up to ninth place in the table.

Although the young Hütteldorf side have now gone nine league games without a win, their eight points move them level on points with Kapfenberg and Hertha Wels, handing bottom spot over to the Upper Austrians.
