No winner in Vienna-Favoriten! Vienna drop points
Following their defeat to Blau-Weiß Linz a week ago, the Döbling side settled for a draw against their fellow top-three rivals.
No winner in the clash between second and third place in Vienna-Favoriten!
Young Violets Austria Wien and First Vienna FC played out a 1-1 draw on matchday 12 of the ADMIRAL 2. Liga.
While the Döbling side dropped points against a top team in the league for the second consecutive week, the young Violets celebrated their sixth unbeaten match in a row.
Flying start for Vienna
The visitors from Döbling made a perfect start to the match, rewarding themselves for their aggressive, high pressing. Prohart won the ball with a sliding tackle near the opponent's penalty area, and Edelhofer finished coolly to make it 1-0 (5').
Patrick Enengl's side remained in control as the game progressed, though the young Violets still managed to threaten on occasion.
Shortly before half-time, Takacs' team equalised through a long-range strike from Jerabek (38'). The youngster found the bottom right corner with precision.
And so, the clash between two of the league's top teams went into the half-time break at 1-1.
No further goals
At the start of the second half, the Young Violets took greater control and looked the more dangerous side going forward.
However, Vienna remained active as well, though a header from Prohart missed the target (72').
In the end, it remained 1-1 between the two sides, who stay in second and third place in the table behind leaders BW Linz.
