FC Liefering have won the derby against Austria Salzburg.

On matchday 12 of the ADMIRAL 2. Liga, Danny Galm's side prevailed against the Violets.

Salzburg had the first chance through Pirkl (3'), after which both teams took a cautious approach.

Nevertheless, the opening goal arrived after just nine minutes. Liefering failed to clear the danger area, and Palacios' clearance fell straight to Huitz, who slotted low into the bottom right corner.

Entertaining first half

With the lead in hand, Salzburg increased the pressure. Shortly after, Huetz and Crnkic had a double chance. The hosts then created opportunities of their own, but Austria remained more dangerous, with Crnkic failing to beat Winklhofer one-on-one after a through ball (26').

The action continued at a lively pace in an intense first half. Kosakiewicz tried a backheel following a corner, but could only find the side-netting (37'). Five minutes later, Matijasevic rushed a shot from a good position.

Liefering fight back

Liefering coach Galm made three changes at the break, bringing on Johannes Moser among others. However, Austria were the first to threaten after the restart, with Gebauer's shot from a corner being blocked. Just moments later, Liefering struck back.

Yuri Leles crossed into the box, where Kosakiewicz made a powerful run and headed home emphatically (57'). The striker was then replaced by Austria U21 international Adejenughure.

Chance after chance, then the turnaround

Almost immediately at the other end, Huetz rushed his finish from a promising position, allowing Winklhofer to make an easy save.

Three minutes later, Leles headed wide before Crnkic fired over in the 65th minute. At the other end, Adejenughure's header went off target (69').

The high-tempo game continued in similar fashion: Moser set up Matjasec, whose shot was blocked (71'). Five minutes later, Leles was denied by Nesler-Täubl.

Match-winner Adejenughure

Liefering's second goal duly arrived in the 81st minute: Adejenughure held off Pirkl, turned, and fired powerfully into the near corner to make it 2-1.

The U21 international then won a penalty just three minutes later, which Ivanschitz converted into the bottom right corner.

The final goal was also crafted by two substitutes: Moser set up Adejenughure, who coolly slotted into the near corner (90').

The result sees Liefering (20 points) leapfrog Salzburg (19) into fourth place in the standings.
