Wacker Innsbruck announces their return to the ADMIRAL 2. Liga with an emphatic victory. The newly promoted side decisively defeats Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz 5-0 on the opening day of the season.

After an even opening phase, the scoring spree began after about half an hour: Quirin Rackl delivered a free-kick from the right half-space into the middle, which Florian Kopp headed in for a 1-0 lead (25.).

Wacker didn't let up afterwards and extended their lead to 3-0 within a few minutes: First, Christopher Weinzierl scored after an assist from Adrian Lechl (32.), and just five minutes later, Mouhamed Sy netted the third goal.

Before the break, the Innsbruck team sealed the deal: Bregenz could only clear an attack from the penalty area, and captain Alexander Joppich struck directly from about 20 meters, extending the lead to 4-0 with a dream goal (44.).

Wacker Takes Top Spot with Emphatic Victory

After the restart, Peter Aizawa's goal almost rattled again, as Weinzierl broke through strongly, but his shot was denied by the Bregenz keeper (47.).

After that, the hosts eased off slightly, allowing Bregenz to create chances: Lucas Dantas rose highest for a corner, but headed wide of the goal (60.). Shortly after, Anteo Fetahu missed a good opportunity following a nice build-up play (68.).

After that, however, the Wacker train picked up speed again. After Okan Yilmaz and Rami Tekir missed a double chance, Phil Kunze headed in the fifth goal from the ensuing corner to make it 5-0 (73.).

In the final phase, the Vorarlberg team still had a chance for a consolation goal, but Atsushi Zaizen found his match in Juri Kirchmayr with two shots from outside the penalty area (88., 90.).

Thus, the Innsbruck team celebrates a successful comeback in the 2. Liga. With this emphatic victory, the newly promoted side also immediately takes the top spot in the league table.
