Zellhofer rescues Amstetten a late draw with a dream goal
Voitsberg led for a long time against Amstetten, but in the end, the promoted team was fortunate to escape with a draw.
ASK Voitsberg let a late victory slip away in their comeback to the ADMIRAL 2. Liga.
The promoted side led SKU Amstetten 1-0 for a long time, but a dream goal from 18-year-old Nico Zellhofer rescued a point for the Mostviertel team. In the end, the Styrians were even lucky not to leave the field as losers.
After a good start from the hosts, the visitors took control of the game but were repeatedly thwarted by an in-form Filip Dmitrovic.

Little came from Voitsberg for a long time, but shortly before the break, the home side took the lead: David Peham unluckily had the ball hit his arm during a clearing attempt - Fabian Schubert confidently converted the penalty to give the Styrians the lead (42/P).
Before halftime, Paolo Jager had the chance to make it 2-0 but failed against Tiago Estevao (45.+6). At the other end, the strong Armin Haider beat two defenders, but Dmitrovic was able to clear (45.+7).
Amstetten equalizes late and wastes chances for victory
After the restart, it took a while before the pace picked up again. After about fifteen minutes, the visitors had a big chance to equalize with a double opportunity:
After a throw-in and an unfortunate clearing attempt by Elias Neubauer, Paul Lipczinski was first denied by Dmitrovic, and Peham's header on the rebound also landed in the arms of the Voitsberg keeper (58.).
After that, the game somewhat fizzled out, but Peham once again had the equalizer at his feet: After a corner kick, Sebastian Wimmer flicked it on with his head to the far post, but the SKU striker only hit the outside of the post with his volley (78.).

In the final phase, however, the visitors scored a deserved equalizer: Thomas Mayer brought the ball in from the right side, where substitute Zellhofer netted a spectacular heel flick to level the score (89.).
After that, Amstetten even had chances to win: First, Luka Zivanovic made a crucial intervention against Peham (90.+3), then just seconds later, Peham missed a golden opportunity alone in front of Dmitrovic (90.+4).
Thus, Voitsberg's return ended in a draw - Amstetten buried their chances of victory due to poor finishing.
