Following Team Breakup: Belgian Ski Prospect Finds New Home
The Belgian impressed last winter with a sixth-place finish in the World Cup final and two other top-ten placements. He is now training with another nation.
Sam Maes has found a new training opportunity!
After the Global Racing Team dissolved, the Belgian has joined the US ski team.
It's time for a new chapter, he writes on Instagram, adding: "But make no mistake - I am still proud to race in the Belgian colours. Always."

The 28-year-old technical specialist achieved sixth place in both Schladming and the giant slalom in Lillehammer. He finished seventh in Copper Mountain.
Maes has also already scored points in slalom, but he hasn't yet managed a top-ten finish.
