Men's Giant Slalom Start in Sölden Must Be Relocated
The first men's Ski World Cup race of the season cannot take place over the full distance.
The Men's World Cup Giant Slalom in Sölden cannot take place as planned from the original start.
As the organisers in Sölden announced in the early hours of Sunday, they have decided to activate the reserve start, meaning the first few seconds of the run will be lost.
The reason is once again the weather. At least: For now, the start time is not expected to change. The first run of the Men's Giant Slalom on the Rettenbach Glacier is still scheduled for 10:00 AM, and the second run for 1:00 PM.

Already on Saturday, overnight snowfall caused the start time of the Women's Giant Slalom to be postponed by half an hour. In contrast to the men, however, the women were allowed to complete their first race of the season from the original start.
