Djokovic vomits again - and fails at US Open!
The record Grand Slam winner is eliminated in the first round in New York. His physical condition raises questions.
For tennis superstar Novak Djokovic, the US Open 2026 ended in the very first round!
The 39-year-old Serb lost to Mariano Navone, the Argentine 14 years his junior, in five sets on Sunday (local time). After 4 hours and 40 minutes of play, "Djoker" came up short with a 6:7(5), 7:5, 6:4, 2:6, 1:6 defeat.
Djokovic seemed heavily affected from the start, repeatedly having to cool his forehead in the first set. Although he won sets two and three, he had to vomit on court several times starting from the third set.

Djokovic cries, but doesn't give up
Towards the end of the match, the pain seemed too great; the Serb received back treatment after the fourth set but did not give up. The extent to which the situation affected him was also evident in the tears Djokovic shed during the match.
In the end, the 39-year-old was helpless. Navone ultimately capitalized on his opponent's situation and celebrated one of the biggest wins of his career.
For Novak Djokovic, however, the wait for his long-awaited 25th Grand Slam title continues.
