Serena and Venus Williams are teaming up again for doubles at the US Open. The sisters received a wildcard on Wednesday for the tournament, which they have already won twice.

Serena Williams made her comeback to the tennis court this summer after a four-year break. The sisters were originally set to play Wimbledon, but Serena had to withdraw after a knee injury during her singles loss. They competed at the Cincinnati Open and lost in the first round.

Doubles Success

The Williams sisters won the US Open doubles titles in 1999 and 2009, and boast a record of 27 wins and 7 losses in their nine appearances. They last played together in 2022 and lost their match, which was widely anticipated as Serena's last match at Flushing Meadows.

Serena (44) played mixed doubles with Carlos Alcaraz on Tuesday, winning one match before being eliminated in the quarterfinals. Venus (46) is competing in the women's singles.

Further Joint Titles

The Williams sisters have collectively won 14 Grand Slam doubles titles and claimed Olympic gold medals in 2000, 2008, and 2012.

They shared the world No. 1 ranking in women's doubles for eight weeks.
