Sabalenka in US Open Semifinals After Tiebreak Thriller
It's a hard-fought match against the Wimbledon champion. Ultimately, however, the defending champion prevails.
Aryna Sabalenka has reached the semifinals of the 2026 US Open.
The defending champion defeats world No. 6 and reigning Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova (CZE) in three hard-fought sets, 7:6 (1), 3:6, 7:6 (8).
19th Consecutive Win
The ascent to the round of the last four was anything but easy. Sabalenka started the first set with a break, but then dropped her own serve when serving for the set. She only prevailed in the tiebreak.
A double fault was instrumental in the loss of the second set, and the decisive third set was also a back-and-forth affair. In the end, however, the Belarusian prevailed in the tiebreak.
It marks her 19th consecutive victory at the Grand Slam in Flushing Meadows. In the battle for a final ticket, the world No. 1 will face Jessica Pegula or Emma Navarro (both USA).
