LASK is Austria's Team of the Year
For the first time, the Linz-based club can call themselves "Team of the Year".
LASK is Austria's Team of the Year 2026!
Coach Didi Kühbauer's team clinched the league and cup double last season. At the Lotterien Sporthilfe Gala, they now receive the NIKI award for Team of the Year.
This is a first for the Linz side and makes them the fourth club football team overall to achieve this. With seven victories by various ÖFB national teams, it is the 16th NIKI success for footballers in total.
Second place in the vote conducted by members of Sports Media Austria goes narrowly to Olympic ski jumping champions Jan Hörl and Stephan Embacher. Like Ariane Rädler and Katharina Huber, who sensationally won gold in the team combination at the Olympic Games, they received 549 points – 36 to 30 first-place votes decided in favour of the jumpers.
