Raimann's Colts trade star guard to the Seahawks
The Colts' best offensive lineman and captain is heading to Seattle. In return, they receive draft picks.
The Indianapolis Colts have traded their star guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks. Several US media outlets reported this on Tuesday.
The Colts will reportedly receive a third- and a fifth-round draft pick in exchange for the eight-time Pro-Bowl player.
Nelson could become a free agent in March. He had previously focused on the current season and revealed little about his future plans.
Second Major Change for the Colts
This is the second significant change within two weeks for the Colts (2-5), who have lost three consecutive games and twelve of their last 14.
Last week, the Colts fired General Manager Chris Ballard after a loss to the previously winless Tennessee Titans. Assistant General Manager Ed Dodds has replaced Ballard temporarily.
Nelson was the sixth overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft and, along with linebacker Darius Leonard, formed a strong duo that was the first rookie team since Gale Sayers and Dick Butkus of the Chicago Bears in 1965 to receive All-Pro honors. Nelson was named an All-Pro from 2018 to 2020.
The Colts visit the Jacksonville Jaguars (4-2) on Sunday, while the Seahawks (4-3) host the Chicago Bears (5-2) on Monday night.
