Darts European Championship kicks off with a nine-darter!
Just minutes after the tournament began, an Englishman achieves the "perfect game".
Luke Woodhouse has already provided a real highlight at the start of the Darts European Championship.
In the very first match of the entire tournament, the Englishman throws a nine-darter. In the fourth leg, he achieves the perfect game against Dirk van Duijvenbode. Woodhouse chose the classic route (180-180-141) and checked out on double 12.
Recently a sensational win against Littler
For the 38-year-old, it's not the first big moment this year.
Just at the end of September, Woodhouse sensationally beat superstar Luke Littler in the first round of the World Grand Prix.
Grand Prix Finalist already out!
Woodhouse's nine-darter is not the only surprise on the first day of the tournament in Dortmund.
James Wade, who was recently in outstanding form and reached the final of the World Grand Prix, lost to Damon Heta in a close match 5:6.
Bunting defeats Noppert 6:5. Zonneveld has to concede to Menzies 3:6. Tournament co-favourite Price beats Cross 6:2.
Another title contender, Luke Humphries, had to withdraw beforehand.
