The Traiskirchen Lions and Bulls Kapfenberg have convincingly won their respective third season games in the win2day Basketball Superliga.

The Lower Austrians, dominant from the fifth minute, dispatched the still winless Raiffeisen Flyers Wels with a score of 103:61.

The reigning champion won the Styrian derby against Eagles Raiffeisen UBSC Graz 96:72. Kapfenberg compensated for 25 turnovers with another outstanding offensive performance.

Dragonz end drought

The Swans Gmunden also remain undefeated: Led by national team player Daniel Friedrich (25 points, 11 assists), the Upper Austrians prevailed against the Dukes with a score of 80:75.

SKN St. Pölten Basketball also celebrated their second win in their second game, having to fight hard against BC Vienna, who were clearly outmatched in their first two games, to secure the 78:62 victory with a strong final quarter.

The Eisenstadt Dragonz celebrated their first derby win in over two years and nine consecutive defeats. Despite the short-term absence of top scorer Austen Awosika, Eisenstadt prevailed against the Unger Steel Gunners Oberwart with a score of 93:87.

Statement victory for UBI Graz to kick off the league

In the win2day Basketball Women Superliga, UBI Holding Graz impressed right from their first season game, winning 77:57 against Basket Flames. The only 19-year-old Austrian Ella Burns was the top scorer with 17 points.

The BK Duchess, after a bitter defeat in round one, also celebrated their first season win: Martha Pietsch, who played the full 40 minutes and scored 26 points, led the defending champions to a narrow 56:51 away victory against the Vienna Timberwolves.
