With 20th place, Rammerstorfer achieved his second-best qualifying result of his rookie season.
But he had expected more. "I am a bit disappointed at the moment. Everything was set up to get into Q2. I had a good feeling," he tells LAOLA1.
Mistakes Cost Possible Q2 Entry
A mistake in turn seven cost him an even better result, possibly even a spot in Q2. "I overpushed there, the front wheel tucked in. I went a bit wide because of that."
In the final corner, he ultimately exceeded track limits, causing his lap to be definitively cancelled.
Rammerstorfer: "I wanted to make up even more time. I knew that if I brought the lap to the finish like that, it wouldn't be enough."
In the race, the focus will initially be on cleanly serving the long-lap penalty. Rammerstorfer estimates he will lose around two to three seconds because of it. "Then I'll look to regain connection with the group."
New Moto3 Team for 2027
However, the disappointment quickly faded, as his future in Moto3 has been officially clarified since Saturday.
The Austrian will leave SIC58 Squadra Corse after one year and join LEVELUP-MTA. This also entails a switch from a Honda to a KTM.
The contract for the 2027 season was already signed in June. He gained valuable experience with both the bike and the team in JuniorGP.
"I believe I have a very good package for next year," says Rammerstorfer.
Strong Interest from Other Teams
It was one of the best options for him. Other teams would have also liked to sign him.
"I could have stayed with my current team, and we were also in talks with other teams. But in the end, we liked the package there best," said the Moto3 rookie.

That the team is competitive is shown by current riders Matteo Bertelle and Joel Esteban. Bertelle has already reached the podium twice this season, and Esteban has recorded several top-five finishes. "That speaks for itself."
An Austrian on a KTM Again
The rider from Linz is also looking forward to riding a KTM again. "It's good to have an Austrian on a KTM again," he says.
The connection to the Austrian manufacturer also plays a role for him. Rammerstorfer speaks of good support and is also convinced: "The bike also suits me well."
The collaboration with Jonas Folger, which began in Misano, is also intended to continue in 2027 if possible. The Upper Austrian hopes, in any case, that the new team will help him take the next step in his development.
With the new KTM and the new team, Rammerstorfer wants to create the right conditions for this.
