Kimi Antonelli secures the fastest time in third practice. Lewis Hamilton causes a lengthy stoppage with a crash.
Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) sets the pace in the final practice session ahead of qualifying at the Spanish Grand Prix.
The young Italian thus remains the benchmark in Madrid - Antonelli had already topped FP2.
The championship leader sets the fastest lap in the third practice session in Madrid with a time of 1:32.797 min, clearly taking the lead with the fastest time of the weekend so far.
Ferrari star Charles Leclerc is 0.166 seconds behind, Oscar Piastri in the McLaren (+0.189) finishes third. His teammate Lando Norris (+0.236) follows closely behind.
Behind them, Max Verstappen (+0.375) is the fastest Red Bull in fifth place. George Russell has to settle for sixth place with a deficit of 0.702 seconds.
After a crash by Lewis Hamilton, the third free practice session is interrupted for over half an hour due to track repairs. Towards the end of the session, Oliver Bearman (Haas) also goes off.
It is not the first time this weekend that the new track in Madrid has caused red flags.
Qualifying takes place on Saturday at 4:00 PM (in the LIVE ticker), the Grand Prix on Sunday at 3:00 PM.
