The Montreal Canadiens will be without David Reinbacher for the game against the Sharks on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning (starting at 1:00 AM CET in the LIVE ticker>>>).

In the last round, the 21-year-old from Vorarlberg celebrated his NHL debut in the overtime win against the Buffalo Sabres.

The Austrian defenseman was drafted fifth overall by the Canadiens in 2023.

Nothing to Do with Reinbacher's Performance

Montreal Canadiens reporter Eric Engels announced via "X" that Reinbacher will be replaced by Adam Engström against the Sharks.

However, it has nothing to do with Reinbacher's performance, but is merely a measure to give every young defenseman playing time. This was reportedly the explanation from coach Martin St. Louis.

Many positive comments about Reinbacher can be found in the comments section. "He has to play," "Reinbacher moves everyone to their strong side," and "Crazy decision," users wrote on the platform.
