Time is running out for VSV.

The new season of the win2day ICE Hockey League starts on Friday. If the Villach-based club has not appointed a new managing director by Thursday, the season will proceed without the league's founding member.

Without a managing director, the "Eagles" are unable to act, meaning no game operations are possible >>>

Another Crisis Meeting on Tuesday

According to "ORF Kärnten", another crisis meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday (2 PM).

At the Villach City Hall, the extent of the existence-threatening financial situation is to be disclosed. It is well known that the Finanzamt and ÖGK are demanding millions from VSV, and subsidies from the Corona period must also be repaid.

The club also estimates that approximately 500,000 to 700,000 Euros would be missing for ongoing operations.

Billionaire Entrepreneur Participates

According to the report, alongside VSV representatives, league vice-president Erich Falkensteiner (HC Pustertal) and former politician and entrepreneur Hans-Peter Haselsteiner are expected to participate in the meeting.

The 82-year-old Tyrolean became known primarily as the long-time head of the construction group STRABAG and as one of the most influential personalities in the Austrian economy.

The fortune of Haselsteiner and his family is currently estimated at 3.9 billion Euros.

No League Participation in Case of Insolvency?

If no solution is found on Tuesday, EC VSV GmbH, which handles professional operations, would have to file for insolvency, reports the "ORF".

Should this occur and a new GmbH subsequently be founded, the new season would nevertheless take place without VSV.
